Meet Rachel and Jeff Collins, the husband-and-wife team behind Salted Hue Interiors.

For us, home design isn't just a business—it's a shared passion that started 28 years ago with our very first fixer-upper. With little budget and plenty of elbow grease, we discovered the joy of transforming spaces together.

What began as DIY projects blossomed into a full-service design firm over two decades. Jeff honed his skills, starting a remodeling business 20 years ago, while Rachel built her design career through word-of-mouth. By 2020, we took the leap to merge our talents and launched Salted Hue Interiors full-time in Crown Point, Indiana. Today we're grateful to have the support of the Salted Hue team.

Our Philosophy: Design Rooted in Warmth

Salted Hue reflects what we love: a natural, inviting, and elevated style. Salt for our love of the water and coastal or natural inspiration, and Hue for the warmth and color we bring into every home.

Married for 30 years, we approach every project with the same dedication we bring to our family life with our three grown kids and a few small dogs. We work hard, prioritize serving our clients well, and believe in creating spaces that are meaningful, functional, and beautiful.

RACHEL COLLINS // PRINCIPAL DESIGNER + CEO

Rachel is known for her creativity, aesthetic eye, and attention to detail. She has the ability to think about small details most people would overlook. She loves getting to work closely with their clients to help create a beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming home environment that people truly love to be in.

As a lover of nature, water, and the beach, Rachel pulls in inspiration from nature into her design projects with colors and textures to create a calm and restful home environment. She works on all styles of projects, and has developed the signature Salted Hue style of modern, natural, and coastal inspired interiors.

JEFF COLLINS // LICENSED CONTRACTOR + COO

Jeff has worked in the remodeling world for over 25 years, and brings a great deal of experience and expertise to the business. He is a highly respected and sought-after contractor booking out many months in advance.

People wait for Jeff to work on their projects because of his excellent reputation. He is knowledgeable, meticulous, yet fast in his work, and seeks to exceed our clients expectations. Rachel confidently says he is the best contractor in the area.

Also a lover of the water, Jeff enjoys fishing and relaxing at the beach, and golfing, if he isn’t working which is not that often! Jeff says he’s made to work, and enjoys the hands on nature of completing all stages of a project himself.
